Occam is a startup company funded by Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) with stakeholders including the Departments of Defense and Health and Human Services. The technology assets of Occam were developed in collaboration with Procter & Gamble as well as SAIC, Boeing, Mantech, John Deere, and General Motors.

Leverage, extend and integrate information architecture (IA) and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) to artificial intelligence (AI) methods and tools to achieve cross-discipline, full-lifecycle step change gains in the following capability areas:

Provide shared libraries of model “patterns” for use as modeling building blocks to drive adoption of Pattern Based Systems Engineering (PBSE) best practices to:
- Improve model completeness, accuracy, rate of creation and return on investment on client MBSE investments.
- Minimize maintenance of models by centralizing model fixes and enhancements and automating the distribution of the same to models-in-use.
- Provide novel, leading-edge Capability Development (CD) methods, tools, and services to direct investments in business process re-design and digitization of the same.
